1.) #GRLBOSS - Sophie Amoruso
Sophie Amoruso shares her ballsy secrets in a self-help business memoir cheekily titled #GirlBoss. Sophie, founder of the Nasty Gal clothing empire, honestly shares her key life lessons of how trusting your gut, trying something new, owning who you are, and working your ass off. This entrepreneur candidly and openly shares with readers how she grew her business from a very young age. It's a relatable read and inspires us all we can make it happen for ourselves.
2.) The Girls - Emma Cline
This book has had a lot of buzz, with its premise and vibrant 60's setting, the story follows a teenage girl who is struggling to find herself. She's lost, lonely, naive and starved for attention. It's not just a coming of age tale but is based on the Manson family and killing spree's of 1969. Along with Manson, a handful of “Charlie’s girls” went on trial for the murders.
3.) Cravings - Chrissy Teigen
Full disclosure: We love Chrissy Teigen. She is so freaking hilarious, cooks incredible food, speaks her mind no matter what, and is one gorgeous chick. This is not your typical celebrity cookbook. Teigen is creative, funny and you can really tell she loves food and her recipes. The book is not only full of drool worthy recipes but simple, helpful tips for cooks of all levels. Thai influences from her mother and a fondness for bacon both make the cut in this cookbook, in it you'll find something for date night, family dinners, and parties of all sizes.
4.) Bad Feminist - Roxanne Grey
These essays span from politics and criticism to feminism. Roxanne Gay takes us through the journey of her evolution as a woman, of colour, the cultural layers and commenting on the state of feminism today. It's thought provoking and highlights subjects that most feminist often overlook . I
